How it works: This is the most common and intended way to find people you know on Telegram.
Save the Number: On your smartphone, add the phone number you want to check to your device’s contacts list. Make sure to save it in the full international format (e.g., +8801712345678 for a Bangladeshi mobile number).
Check Contacts: Go to your “Contacts” tab within Telegram (usually accessible from the main chat list or a menu).
Look for the User: If that phone number is registered on Telegram, and the user’s privacy settings allow discovery via phone number, their Telegram profile (with their name, username if they have one, and profile picture) will automatically appear in your Telegram contacts list.
Why it’s reliable:
If the contact appears, you know for sure they are on Telegram.
Limitations: If the user has strict privacy settings (e.g., “Who can find me by my number” set to “Nobody” or “My Contacts” where you are not a telegram number database mutual contact), they will not appear, even if they have a Telegram account.
